Guide for businesses

How much does a website cost in 2026?

By Alex MG Studio · · 6 min read

Quick answer

A professional website for a small business in Spain costs, as a rough guide, between €150 and €1,500 if it is built by an independent designer and from €1,500–2,000 if it is built by an agency. The price depends mainly on the number of pages, whether it includes copywriting and SEO, and on special features (bookings, online shop…). On top of that, the domain and hosting are registered in the business’s name.

It’s the first question any business asks before going online. The answer depends on very specific things, so let’s put some numbers on it.

Guide prices by type of website

These ranges are a rough guide and are common in the Spanish market for business websites. Every professional sets their own prices, so always ask for a fixed quote.

Type of websiteGuide priceIdeal for
One-page website (landing page) with services and contact€150–600Bars, hair salons, garages, trades
Business website with persuasive copy and local SEO€300–1,000Businesses that want to win customers on Google
Multi-page website with bookings or a catalogue€500–2,000Clinics, gyms, shops with many products
Custom agency project€1,500–6,000 or moreCompanies with complex needs

What makes a website cost more or less

1. The number of pages and sections

A one-page website (services, photos and contact) is not the same as a website with ten pages, a blog and a catalogue. For many local businesses, a well-built one-page website is the best starting point.

2. The copy

Writing copy that persuades takes time. When the designer writes it (what is known as copywriting), the price goes up, but the number of customers who contact you usually goes up too.

3. Special features

Online bookings, an appointment calendar, a shop with payments, a private area or several languages require more development and more testing.

4. SEO

A website that looks nice but that Google doesn’t understand won’t bring you customers. Optimising titles, speed, structured data and your Google Maps profile is extra work that shows in the calls you get.

5. The design

A design tailored to your sector and your brand sets you apart from the competition and builds trust from the very first second.

Other costs to bear in mind

  • Domain (yourbusiness.es or .com): around €10–20 a year, always in your business’s name.
  • Hosting: depends on the provider and the type of website. It should also be in your name.
  • Maintenance: to keep the website up to date (opening hours, prices, photos) and check that everything works.

I explain it in detail in how much it costs to maintain a website each year.

What if I build it myself?

Building the website yourself looks cheaper, but it usually isn’t: you pay a monthly fee to the platform for as long as the website exists, you spend many hours you could devote to your business, and the result is rarely as convincing as a professional design. I compare them in depth in Wix or hiring a web designer?

How to compare quotes

Two quotes with the same price can include very different things. Before deciding, check that the quote clearly states:

  1. What is included: number of pages, copy, photos, SEO and publishing.
  2. How many rounds of changes you get and what counts as a change.
  3. Whose name the domain, the hosting and the website are in. They should be yours.
  4. Delivery time and payment terms.
  5. What happens afterwards: how future changes are made and how much they cost.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a simple website cost?

A professional one-page website usually costs between €150 and €600, depending on whether it includes copy, photos, SEO and publishing on your domain.

Why is there such a difference between quotes?

Because they don’t include the same things: the number of pages, copywriting, SEO, special features and the support afterwards change the actual work a lot.

Does the price of a website include the domain?

Usually not. The domain (around €10–20 a year) and the hosting are paid separately and should be in the business’s name, so that the website is really yours.

Do you have to pay every month for a website?

The design is paid for once. After that you pay your provider for the domain and hosting and, if you want peace of mind, a maintenance plan for changes and checks.
